This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Financial Controller - REMOTE. This pivotal role will oversee all accounting functions across Canada and Latin America, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of robust internal controls. The tenure of this position requires a strong leader capable of managing diverse teams and working collaboratively across cultures. You'll play an essential role in driving strategic financial oversight while fostering a culture of accountability within the organization.

Accountabilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting operations for Canada and LATAM.
• Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
• Review and validate financial statements in compliance with local regulations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Manage and mentor accounting teams across multiple regions.
• Coordinate workflows, priorities, and deadlines.
• Act as the main point of escalation for accounting-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory entities.
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and Executive teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent is a strong plus).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Proven experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of multi-country accounting processes.
• Experience with Canada and/or LATAM accounting frameworks.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems / ERPs.
• Fluent English and Spanish (mandatory).
