A university department is seeking a Senior Facilities Assistant to support the operations of the chemical safety team. Responsibilities include managing dangerous goods and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have good command of English and Chinese, along with strong communication skills. This role is contracted on a fractional basis with a competitive salary and benefits.

Senior Facilities Assistant – Safety Office

Work type: Fractional (50%)

Location: Hong Kong

Start date: January (two‑year fixed‑term basis)

Contract terms: contract‑end gratuity; University contribution to retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.

Qualifications

• 5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE/equivalent or a combination of specialised training, education and experience.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a variety of settings.
• Knowledge of chemistry and experience with a variety of Microsoft software tools is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the operations of the chemical safety team in administering the purchase and distribution of chemicals.
• Manage dangerous goods stores.
• Arrange the collection of chemical and clinical waste.
• Maintain entries in a dangerous goods inventory system.
