Formación

Purpose of the role

The Bank for International Settlements has an exciting opportunity for a Research Analyst at the Representative Office in Mexico City.

In this role you will work with the Bank's economists and support innovative research.

As part of a diverse and highly qualified team, you will collect, process and analyse statistical and econometric data from a range of sources including central banks, supervisory authorities and international organisations.

  • Creating graphs and tables for use in publications and at key meetings of senior decision‑makers to discuss global financial topics.
  • Maintaining statistical databases for internal and external use, and providing solutions to issues related to large data sets and firm‑level data.
  • Conducting data quality control to ensure that data meet the highest standards.
  • Conduct econometric analysis with BIS economists.
  • Read and extract information from academic and central bank publications.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
  • Experience using econometric software packages.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts applied in finance and / or economics.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Experience in retrieving data from sources such as Bloomberg and Datastream.
  • Experience using statistical packages / tools / libraries (eg Eviews, Stata, Matlab, Python or R) would be an advantage.
  • Strong data skills.
