Ideal candidates will have an engineering degree and extensive knowledge of regulations. The position involves in-office work with some travel requirements. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist to join our team. With this role, you will be part of a global standards and regulations team that helps ensure market access for all Caterpillar products. This role requires extensive collaboration with teams internal to Caterpillar, as well as industry associations, standards development organizations, certification agencies, and regulatory bodies. Your responsibilities in this position include advising Caterpillar teams on the regulatory landscape and market access requirements for products imported into Latin America, with a focus on Mexico and Central America.

What you will do
  • Provide technical leadership to industry trade associations, regulatory authorities, and standards organizations to influence the development of effective standards and regulations.
  • Serve as the regional specialist with in-depth knowledge of both current and emerging regulatory requirements, ensuring their effective application to Caterpillar products.
  • Deliver expert analysis and interpretation of market access requirements to Caterpillar product teams.
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar teams to ensure that products are developed, validated, and produced in full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Advise and support regional certification of Caterpillar products and influence the development of new certification requirements.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Fluent English

  • Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Effective Communication: Capability to clearly convey complex information to audiences with diverse levels of understanding.
Top candidates will also have
  • Previous experience in product regulations, standards, and certification
  • Knowledge of engine emissions technologies and certification test procedures.
  • Previews experience with Mexico NOM certification
  • Knowledge of telecommunication devices and certification
  • Knowledge of product development methods and product engineering techniques
  • Basic level knowledge of Portuguese
Additional Information
  • Location: Santa María Office in Monterrey, Nuevo León
  • This position is five-day a week in-office model.
  • This position will require travelling 20% working time (Domestic and International).
  • Valid Travel Visa and Passport
  • Sponsorship for foreign candidates is not available.
  • Domestic Relocation assistance is available for this position.
