About the Role: The ops buyer role is an individual contributor position with responsibility for supporting the purchasing activity of RESRG Automotive global headquarters. This individual will work closely with the purchasing category manager to support IT, Engineering, HR, and additional functions in their purchasing needs. This person will have responsibility to execute the source to pay process for purchases using purchasing systems, processes, and financial controls. The goal is to drive superior value and efficiency for corporate customers of the purchasing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Build working relationships with key stakeholders in the business including requisitioners and purchasing leadership.
  • Coordinates with admin assistants to support executive leadership purchasing activities.
  • Support PO for the “Troy plant” and other non-manufacturing sites such as Farmington.
  • Review and convert all requisitions that are entered in CMS to a purchase order.
  • Review and approve all requisitions that are entered in Coupa.
  • Investigate and correct errors on invoices. When invoices have the wrong PO number, wrong price, etc.; follow up with the requester to verify they get it corrected. Recognize systemic issues, determine root cause, and implement countermeasures to reduce errors.
  • Ensure that receiving is completed on a timely basis as some items are ordered from Troy with delivery to other locations.
  • Maintain Travel and Entertainment (T&E) systems for latest providers and services as sourced (Concur, Amex travel, Brex), for example if a new contract or new supplier is implemented with a transportation provider, that the amex system is updated.
  • Maintain supplier master data with add/remove/update per the purchasing strategy.
  • Additional or process support to be determined.
  • Support continuous improvement or cost savings project as determined by category manager and purchasing leadership.
  • Improve “requisition to check” processing timing.
  • Improve adherence to purchasing strategy including preferred suppliers, channels, and terms.
  • Engage suppliers as needed to resolve payment or system issues or eliminate waste.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Operations.
  • Skilled in Purchasing systems and processes, analytics, Ability to effectively through remote meeting tools to serve multiple locations.

Required Skills:

  • Lean, Continuous improvement, and problem-solving capability.
  • Coupa experience is highly preferred. SAP and CMS also preferred.
  • Conversational English.
