A leading automotive technology company in Monterrey seeks a Mechanical Prototype Engineer to support the development of prototype parts using CAD software and 3D printers. The ideal candidate has a university degree, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and knowledge in mechanical design and plastic injection. They will collaborate with engineers to transform concepts into functional prototypes and ensure manufacturing processes are documented. This role emphasizes team collaboration and adherence to prototyping timelines.

Mechanical Prototype Eng. (MPE)

Responsibilities

• Support the development of prototype parts based on CAD proposals, ensuring physical feasibility of the models.
• Use CAD software to model and adjust geometries according to design specifications
• Operate and maintain 3D printers, including file preparation, calibration, and post-processing.
• Perform manual finishing of prototypes (sanding, assembly, gluing, painting, or fine adjustments)
• Collaborate with product engineers and designers to transform concepts into functional prototypes
• Document the prototype manufacturing process and maintain version control and records of modifications.
• Preparation of CAD data and documentation for ordering parts from external suppliers.
