A global consumer goods company in Veracruz is seeking a Local Buyer to lead strategic sourcing activities. The successful candidate will optimize costs while maintaining quality and supplier performance. Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with group guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, along with excellent English communication. Job Description

The Local Buyer will lead and actively participate to the strategic sourcing activities for assigned perimeter of families.

His / her goal will be to achieve productivity improvements while maintaining or improving product quality and vendor service levels.

He / She will work closely with key stakeholders (both internal and external) in member organizations and in corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans, measuring KPIS, developing the Team.

Additionally, he / she will provide support for the implementation of Global and Regional family strategies.

In his / her position, the Local Buyer will report directly to the Head of LAM Sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Local families - The Local Buyer will identify and prioritize sourcing projects for Local families.
• Monitor Local family supplier performance & risk - The Local Buyer will work with suppliers to ensure implementation of sourcing strategy in accordance with guidelines set at Group level.
• Directly solve operational issues with suppliers (e.g., quality, delivery and service issues).
• Hold regular supplier reviews.

Drive annual productivity improvements

• The Local Buyer will develop, champion, and ensure implementation of ideas that will optimize the Group's total cost of ownership year-over-year for Local families according to Group guidelines.
• Ensure internal and external policies, regulations and laws.
• As the local intermediary between Global and Regional buyers the Local buyer will provide support when required to:
• Communicate needs to relevant Regional and Global Buyers.
• Ensure visibility of the process and supply situation to all stakeholders.
• Ensure proper delivery of goods and services from Global and Regional suppliers.
• Track performance and report issues to relevant Buyer for Global and Regional suppliers.

Challenges

• Improve the main SLAs on Order on time, receive on time, establish a good communication with other areas related and simplify where possible.
• Accurate performance data - Local families will be actively collected and monitored.
• Identified savings will have been captured.
• Suppliers will be actively managed and developed through the use of a common scorecarding process.
• Develop & Implement Inventory reduction plans with key Suppliers always in accordance with Regional Manager.

Qualifications

• Expertise in negotiation.
