Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Principal Engineer with a strong focus on Surface Mount Technology (SMT). This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our SMT production lines, driving continuous improvement, and supporting cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with SMT equipment, strong problem‑solving abilities, and leadership experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to SMT production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Guide the engineers with troubleshoot SMT equipment including:
  • Solder paste printers
  • Solder paste inspection systems
  • Pick‑and‑place machines (e.g., Fuji)
  • Reflow ovens (including thermal profile interpretation)
  • Wave and selective soldering systems
  • PCB routers and washers
• Interpret thermal profiles, chemical usage, and machine‑generated thermal data.
• Collaborate in stencil design and process optimization.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using statistical analysis and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead and mentor a team of at least 10 engineers.
• Apply basic financial knowledge to support cost‑effective solutions.
• Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to improve production efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, with a focus on SMT processes.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams of 10+ people.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and customer service attitude.
• Proficient in statistical tools and data analysis.
• Basic understanding of financial principles related to manufacturing.
