A research institution in Baja California is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to focus on transport and dispersion problems in the coastal ocean. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physical oceanography and demonstrate experience in coastal circulation physics and data analysis. This position is anticipated for 1.5 years and is part of a collaborative program with multiple U.S. institutions, presenting opportunities for scholarly contributions.

Overview

The Department of Physical Oceanography at CICESE (Ensenada, Baja California) is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work on transport and dispersion problems in the coastal ocean. The ideal candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in physical oceanography or a closely related field, and have a solid understanding of coastal ocean circulation physics. While the position is based in Ensenada, the research is part of a large observational program with collaborators at numerous U.S. Institutions including the University of California Santa Barbara and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Appointment details

The position is based at CICESE (Ensenada, Baja California). The initial appointment is roughly 1.5 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 additional years depending on continued funding.
