We are looking for a Payroll & Benefits Manager to join our team in Cd. Juarez, Mexico.
The Role
The Payroll & Benefits Manager will deal with and be accountable for all aspects of employee payroll and benefits, including processing payroll, administering benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations across our operations in Mexico and Latam. This role also involves interacting with employees, benefits providers, and other stakeholders. This role ensures market competitiveness, internal equity, and compliance with local labor laws while supporting the company’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Management and execution of the end-to-end payroll process, including the timely and accurate capture of all labor changes (hires, terminations, salary changes, leaves, absences, bonuses, overtime, incidences, etc.).
- Maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Responding to payroll and benefits-related inquiries from employees.
- Generation of payroll layouts for bank transfers using the payroll system.
- Execution of payroll disbursement, including uploading files to banking portals.
- Validation of payroll transfers, reviewing the status of each transaction in the banking portal.
- Investigation and resolution of rejected transactions if applicable, and manual reprocessing of these payments by entering them in the portal, signing, and requesting the second-level signature from the Accounts Payable (AP) department.
- Perform payroll stamp (timbrado) reconciliations, ensuring that XML files downloaded from the SAT portal match reported ISR amounts in accounting and are consistent with tax payments made to SAT.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws (IMSS, INFONAVIT, SAT, LFT), and internal governance such as internal procedures, etc.
- Support internal departments such as Finance and Controlling during month-end closing processes and annual audits, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
- Oversee benefit plans including medical, life insurance, saving funds and flexible benefits tailored to workforce needs.
- Generate regular reports and analytics to inform decision-making and monitor budget impact.
- Benchmark compensation and benefits using industry data and practices specific to the industry.
- Lead the annual compensation process, including salary reviews, merit increases, and bonus administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources and/or Administration or equivalent work experience is required.
- 5+ years of experience in Payroll & Benefits roles, preferably in multinational companies.
- In-depth knowledge of Mexican labor law, IMSS, INFONAVIT, and tax implications for compensation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; advanced Excel/Sheets required.
- Experience with HR payroll systems (e.g., Tress Revolution) and HRIS systems.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, team player and challenge driven.

- Have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience in job grading methodologies (e.g., Mercer) is a plus.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
