A leading global sustainability consultancy in Monterrey, Mexico, is seeking a Managing Consultant to lead sustainability projects and develop ESG strategies. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in sustainability consulting, and must be bilingual in Spanish and English. Formación

Overview

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant with strong technical and strategic experience in sustainability to join our consulting team in Monterrey, Mexico.

This role requires professionals with expertise in the implementation of Sustainability Strategies at Corporate Level. Commercial capabilities are desirable.

In this position, you will work closely with ERM Partners to design and implement corporate sustainability strategies as well as report under international reporting standards. Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver corporate sustainability projects aligned with international standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, ESRS, CSRD, IFRS) and regulatory taxonomies.
  • Develop ESG strategies and governance structures, defining KPIs and targets aligned with frameworks such as SBTi and SDGs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and lead double materiality and climate-risk assessments, including scenario analysis and IRO mapping.
  • Make fast, high-impact decisions under pressure, demonstrating resilience, self-confidence, and self-motivation as essential traits for success in dynamic environments.
  • Prepare and present ESG roadmaps and implementation frameworks to executive audiences.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and integration of sustainability disclosures with risk management systems (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).
  • Support commercial activities, proposal development, and client engagement.
  • Promote the use of ESG data-management tools and digital platforms.
  • Contribute to ERM’s visibility through technical leadership and participation in ESG and climate forums.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Business, or related field; Master’s degree or specialized training preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in sustainability consulting, ESG, or risk management.
  • Proven experience with double materiality, IFRS S1/S2, and climate-risk analysis.
  • Strong technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and strategic mindset.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and presentation to executive audiences.
  • Excellent communication in Spanish and English.
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
