Summary

The Import Export Specialist is responsible for supporting the Import/Export operations team through accurate and timely data entry, cargo tracking, and coordination of logistics information across domestic and international shipments. This role plays a key part in maintaining service excellence, ensuring data integrity, and driving continuous improvement within logistics processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and data entry support for domestic, ocean, and air cargo operations.
  • Accurately enter logistics information and shipment documentation into CargoWise.
  • Track and validate shipment milestones, including departures, arrivals, and deliveries, ensuring information accuracy with carriers and partners.
  • Update systems using pre-alerts, arrival notices, and other shipment documentation.
  • Coordinate ISF (Importer Security Filing) submissions with Customs for assigned accounts.
  • Support Import/Export Specialists in daily operations by maintaining updated and validated shipment data.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining vendor and carrier databases.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company and customer information.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to overall operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to achieve performance goals and ensure timely customer service delivery.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with excellent communication and follow-up skills. Must demonstrate a positive attitude, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in logistics, data entry, or international transportation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CargoWise or similar TMS systems is a plus.
Language Skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret logistics documentation, business correspondence, and operational procedures.
  • Strong written communication skills for reporting and email correspondence.
