Position Title: Global Network Operations Leader

MAIN PURPOSE

As the Global Network Operations Leader, you will oversee the comprehensive management and direction of our network operations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability on a global scale. This critical role involves managing a managed service partner to deliver superior network operations and support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day network operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and incident response, to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Oversee the escalation process, ensuring timely resolution of critical network issues and minimizing impact on business operations.
  • Supervise routine maintenance activities, ensuring they are conducted efficiently and effectively to prevent unplanned downtime and extend the life of network assets.
  • Lead change management processes for network operations, including planning, approval, and implementation of network changes to ensure minimal disruption and adherence to best practices.
  • Act as the primary liaison with our managed service partner, ensuring they meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Continuously assess and improve network performance, reliability, and security, leveraging data and analytics to drive decision‑making.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology enhancements, leading initiatives to implement innovative solutions.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential network disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on network performance, issues, and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Orbia infrastructure standards, regulations, and security protocols to protect the organization’s network infrastructure. Take care of regular audits.

Vendor / MSP Management: The role involves managing the Managed Service Providers (MSPs), ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. This requires monitoring performance, and fostering strong partnerships.

DECISION‑MAKING IMPACT

The occupant is responsible for making critical decisions that affect long-term infrastructure services, influencing both short-term performance and long-term strategic goals.

CROSS‑FUNCTIONAL WORK

The position necessitates extensive collaboration across various functions, including finance, legal and operations to ensure cohesive infrastructure delivery.

GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE

The role covers multiple regions (North America + LATAM and EMEA / APAC), necessitating an understanding of regulatory environments, and cultural differences.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
  • Global Infra Leader – Internal – Direct line manager
  • IT LT (CIO, BISO) & Business Leaders – Internal – Reporting on operations
  • Business leaders, plant managers, end‑users – Internal – Ticket reporting and escalation management
  • Architecture team – Internal – Align on architectural decisions and review of implemented solutions
  • Vendors and MSP – External – Manages relationship & integration partners, negotiating scope of work, monitoring performance, and fostering strong partnerships

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Academic Level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Language(s) and level of proficiency: English (fluent) and Spanish
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

In‑depth knowledge of network infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools. Proficiency in network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.

Experience with network security best practices and technologies, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access control.

Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Experience with deploying, configuring, and testing network equipment.

Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Ansible, Python).

MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Experience in managing relationships with MSPs, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, senior management).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to senior management and other stakeholders.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing global network operations.
  • Extensive experience working with and managing relationships with managed service partners.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with documentation, training, and support processes necessary for a smooth handover.

Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws): Able to travel 10‑20%.
