Senior Manager, Software Engineer

We are seeking Full Stack Software Engineers passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Senior Manager Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to drive major transformation within the company.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions meeting regulatory needs.
• Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, mentor other engineers, and occasionally code or evaluate code.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that provide powerful experiences for millions of Americans, helping them achieve financial empowerment.
• Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go; work with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; use container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes; and leverage various AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

• Intermediate to advanced English fluency
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience (internships excluded)
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• At least 9 years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, C#/.Net, or Go
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• At least 4 years of experience with open-source frameworks
• At least 7 years of people management experience
• At least 2 years of experience practicing Agile methodologies
