Under the day to day supervision of the Site Controller the Finance Assistant is part of a training effort designed to provide a structured yet flexible environment in which the Associate is exposed to all aspects of the Container business via formal courses multi-site on-the-job training special projects and one-on-one feedback Finance Assistant is generally one of two salaried financial personnel at the manufacturing site.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

While actively engaged in developing the skills needed to successfully transition to a position of increasing responsibility the Finance Specialist will support the plant controllerand staff. Primary areas of focus include internal controls (safeguarding company assets); preparing financial statements in conformity with professional regulatory and company procedures; supplying timely and meaningful analytic data that measures business results and provides useful insights to management; identifying opportunities and recommending solutions to business problems; and supervising training and developing best practices in the accounting staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The qualifications and expectations for candidates will vary with the individual.

• Education Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration with a minimum of 12 hours of accounting
• Self-starter with excellent written oral and listening skills
• The ability to work effectively with others and participate on teams
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Candidatesshould have 2 years experiencein an accounting or finance role
• Fully Bililngual - (Spanish/English)

TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL:

• General and cost accounting including financial close processes and financial statement preparation
• Internal controls identification maintenance development and assessment
• Analytical & financial skills including budgeting forecasting key performance measures working capital management and special projects
• Information systems use oversight and management.
• Knowledge of sales & marketing and distribution processes
• Knowledge of quality improvement and manufacturing processes (root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations)
