An automotive industry leader in Chihuahua is seeking a Maintenance Engineer responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and proven experience in manufacturing. Responsibilities include optimizing production processes and ensuring safety standards. Position Duties:
Responsible for FTPM activities within the department.
Coordinate and plan maintenance actions, including preventive, planned, and crisis maintenance.
Ensure all safety standards are met during maintenance activities.
Optimize current production processes.
Coach plants in continuous improvement, standardization, and lean concepts.
Assist plants in addressing equipment downtime issues.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance practices to ensure 100% equipment uptime.
Train and educate plant personnel and leadership.
Provide input on new equipment design and purchase.
Support new model and equipment launches as required.
Lead quality-related actions to improve machine reliability.
Serve as the point of contact for Plant Engineering, local vendors, and commodity suppliers regarding equipment issues.
Manage maintenance costs and budget control.
Drive maintenance metrics within the department.
Issue regular reports on maintenance metrics.
Ensure all areas operate according to FPS tools and FTPM initiatives.
Motivate teams to suggest ideas for improving equipment availability and document in R&M reports.
Support and coach problem-solving activities within the department, mainly focused on reliability and maintainability.
Coordinate maintenance planning and shutdown planning actions.
Participate in department meetings regarding equipment improvement and JPH actions.
Actively participate in JPH Roadmap reviews.
Provide technical assistance to personnel and areas as needed.
Identify training needs for skilled employees and coordinate the training plan.
Work with systems like CORA, MAXIMO, QLSCM, POSMON, and others as required.
Coordinate skilled personnel during breakdowns to minimize production disturbance, ensuring resources are planned during line breaks.
Participate in interplant benchmarking exercises.
Engage in Simultaneous Engineering meetings, Forward Planning, and Product Design to ensure maintainability standards are followed.
Qualifications
Preferred Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial, Electrical, or Automation Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
Experience: 3-5 years in manufacturing; stamping experience preferred.
Robot / Interpress transfer (ABB / Fanuc / Gudel).
Stamping / press equipment.
Vision experience strongly preferred (Cognex).
PLC competency.
Lean implementation.
AutoCAD proficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: Ability to optimize equipment programs and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes.
Excellent communication skills to train both hourly and salary team members.
Self-starter with ownership of projects and ability to see them through to completion with limited supervision.
Flexibility to travel extensively.
Demonstrate leadership in ONE FORD behaviors, along with strong interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
