About GoodTime

The Role

The Director of Engineering will be GoodTime's first hire in Mexico.

Working directly with the Head of Engineering, your main focus will be hiring, training, developing, and integrating the new Mexican Engineering Team. This means ensuring team members have everything they need to be successful (software, hardware, etc.). You will also contribute to the product roadmap by working with our product and engineering teams in the US and Brazil. This role might be for you if you have a technical background in engineering frameworks such as javascript, excel at selecting and developing talent, and are extremely flexible in your approach to engineering. For us, fast is better than perfect. We iterate constantly and fail fast, so we need that to resonate with you!

Must have

• 5+ years of Engineering Leadership experience, in a SaaS environment preferably
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in both languages (written and verbal)
• Experience building and developing high performing engineering teams
• Background in full stack development (deep understanding of front and back end)
• Background in engineering frameworks and cloud technologies like AWS
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, and multiple projects/deals in a fast paced team environment
• Strong creative problem solving skills, and ability to find new answers to hard problems
• Player/Coach mentality - contributing technically, as well as leading the team
• Ability to travel to the United States to meet with the US team

Nice to have

• Background in our tech stack - javascript, typescript, node.js, react/redux
• HR Tech, Recruitment Tech, or related industry experience
