The Opportunity:

You as Country Trade Compliance Officer (CTCO) will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Mexico. You will be overseeing, managing, and monitoring the implementation of the governance framework for the Global Trade Management at country level for Mexico, Panama and the Central American Cluster (CAC). You must ensure that Business Units conduct their activities in line with this Corporate Regulation and its Annexes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes and guidelines.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

  • You will be taking instructions from the Head of Trade Compliance with a dotted line to the Global Head of Trade Compliance.

  • You will be driving and coordinating the regional, cluster or country level implementation of the global trade management. Ensuring trade compliance and efficient trade at the regional, cluster or country level.

  • You will be coordinating with the Global Trade Compliance, create country specific trade policies and procedures, where local laws or regulations require having a country specific or dedicated trade policy.

  • You will be supporting Business Units in relation to trade-related issues such as export control, customs compliance, sensitive countries, screening, etc.

  • You will be cooperating with the Business Units, analyze trade flows and customs duty spend to look for duty savings opportunities.

  • You will be providing the Business Units with guidance and improvement suggestions in relation to trade issues. If necessary, stop individual business transactions and/or business with specific business partners at any time.

  • You will be updating the Business Units, the Global Leadership of Trade Compliance on (potential) risk areas and trade issues. Providing the Business Units and other stakeholders with trade-related training. Conducting trade reviews and audits.

  • You will be consulting the Head of Global Trade Compliance in case of questions on trade compliance and escalate trade compliance issues to the Head of Global Trade Compliance, as necessary.

Your background:

  • Any bachelor’s degree, diploma/degree in subjects related to Trade Compliance, Export Import, Customs management.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Trade compliance, Import, Export Compliance, Customs management, Taxes.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English as well as Spanish.

  • Experience with SAP/GTS preferred.

  • It is very important to understand IMMEX operations.
