A leading global manufacturing firm located in Mexico, Jalisco is seeking a Business System Analyst to conduct thorough business analysis needs assessments and provide recommendations for IT solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in business analysis with 2 to 5 years of experience and knowledge of emerging technologies. Key responsibilities include analyzing business needs, conducting gap analysis, and maintaining documentation. A degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is preferred.

Summary

Conduct business analysis needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

Independently conduct, in business analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis of more complex initiatives with little guidance to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate business needs to recommend solution options.

• Collaborate stakeholders on solution evaluation and system selection.

• Formulate and define scope of system and objectives.

• Conduct gap analysis, analyze current and future state, assess risks.

• Conduct requirement elicitation workshops.

• Conduct interviews with end users and business stakeholders.

• Analyze, specify and model requirements in a form of business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, user stories, business process models, UI wireframes and other forms regarding project and stakeholders needs.

• Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation for responsible area with new or updated functionality.

• Trace, prioritize, approve, verify and validate requirements.

• Assess, document, and manage requirements changes, system updates, improvements and enhancements.

• Conduct peer reviews of the documentation made by other Business System Analysts and provide constructive feedback to teammates.

• Provide quality assurance by writing and executing test plans and test cases.

• Coordinate user acceptance test with Subject Matter Experts.

• Participate as key team member during implementation.

• Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting issues and coordinate with other Business System Analysts and technical personnel for their resolution.

• Perform root cause analysis and create technical notes for all new issues identified.

• Participate in processes improvement, sharing best practices and proactively suggesting improvement points.

Knowledge and Education Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.

• Minimum 2 to 5 years work experience in a related position.

• Ability to understand complex business problems and translate it to IT language.

• Thorough knowledge and in-depth field experience regarding emerging or job technologies required to fulfill the job.

• Structured, process driven, pragmatic problem solver approach.

• Good influencing, communication, and customer service skills.

• Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Fluent in English.

Advantage

• Familiar with BABOK (Business Analyst Body of Knowledge) framework and principles.

• ISTQB Foundation level Certificate.

• Business Analyst Certificate (PMI-PBA, CBAP or equivalent).

• AWS Cloud Practitioner Certificate.

• SQL knowledge and experience.

• Application development experience.
