Descripción del empleo

Designs, develops, integrates, installs, validates, and releases automated systems and machines. Contributes directly to the development of automation projects, design of experiments, testing of electromechanical applications, and virtual simulations (mechanical, electrical, and software). Performs machining and testing with robots, pneumatic systems, and vacuum systems. Also participates in project discussion forums with Resideo’s sister plants and collaborates in the implementation and maintenance of both existing and future automated equipment.

JOB DUTIES
  • Actively participates in the design and development of automation projects for Resideo plants in Mexico.
  • Performs modifications to automated equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Directly supports laboratory testing to validate the effectiveness of electromechanical system applications.
  • Documents, shares, and provides training on new automation integration and engineering devices.
  • Records lessons learned from ongoing development processes.
  • Prepares and publishes relevant automation project reports for management.
  • Collaborates with manufacturing and maintenance teams to achieve and sustain optimal equipment performance through preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Works with design and manufacturing engineering functions to define design criteria for new equipment.
  • Ensures all automated equipment complies with company safety and performance standards.
  • Maintains a performance and modification history for automated equipment.
  • Provides technical support to equipment users.
  • Maintains and updates the schedule of required equipment modifications.
  • Supports and reports on staff training and awareness related to objectives, goals, aspects, impacts, improvements, and operational controls for environmental responsibility.
  • Actively participates in the 5S +1 Program—a critical business objective—ensuring compliance with the program’s standards and performing assigned roles such as Auditor, Coordinator, Leader, or Committee Member.
  • Works using a standard work sheet to optimize individual performance.
  • Is responsible for adhering to COVID-19 cleaning and audit programs.
  • Carries out other duties assigned by management to support company operations.
  • Understands the quality objectives relevant to their role and actively contributes to achieving them.
MUST HAVES
  • Intermediate English proficiency– ability to understand and work with technical documentation.
  • 3–5 years of experience in machine design and automation equipment projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software:
    • SolidWorks (hands‑on)
    • AutoCAD (hands‑on)
    • RoboGuide (hands‑on) (ABB robotstudio for Fanuc Robots)
  • Microsoft Office Suite– particularly Excel and Word for project documentation and reporting.
  • GD&T knowledge (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
WE VALUE
  • Familiarity with ergonomic design standards for industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • CSWP certification (Certified SolidWorks Professional).
  • Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies or certification (e.g., Green Belt or higher).
