Operations
Position Summary
An Project manager are responsible for keeping an office running smoothly and overseeing administrative support.
The job can range widely in duties and responsibilities, from reception, copyediting and support, to handling a specific type of paperwork or filing for a specific department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise superintendents and field installation crews and all related work.
- Prepare and maintain project schedule with information obtained from the sales contract, ShareFile and Insightly.
- Lead the weekly project management meeting with the Finance and Operations Manager and the CEO.
- Review project plans and specifications.
- Monitor and maintain project schedule and costs daily.
- Daily reporting of jobsite conditions and progress.
- Control and monitor labor and equipment expenses.
- Ensure as-built drawings are prepared for all large projects with Drafter.
- Prepare and issue agendas and minutes for site meetings on all large projects.
- Inform General Manager of all relevant issues, errors, discrepancies, etc. on job sites.
- Update clients on job progress.
- Manage subcontractors.
- Manage hiring and vetting process for subcontractors using company's policies.
- Source local temp labor on jobs when required.
- Approve subcontractor invoices in a timely fashion.
- Follow up on delivery and ship dates for ordered material.
- Approve superintendent and installer timesheets and Expense Reports.
- Code all travel expenses to corresponding job numbers.
- Update daily the 5-day Plan and the Job Board (3 weeks out).
- Set up and monitor all job expense related items such as lodgings, transportation and rented equipment.
- File all documentation in the designated ShareFile folders indicated.

Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or similar is preferred.
- PMP certification required.
- Availability and flexibility to travel to jobs within the US and Canada for site visits.
- People management & leadership skills.

- Proficiency with basic PC hardware and software, including MS Word and MS Excel.
- Ability to read CAD documents.
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Ability to manage budgets.

Travel schedule varies depending on need but typically is around 60% of the time per week.
