The Accounting Analyst II plays a critical role within our US accounting team and will be supported directly by the Accounting Manager.

• Perform various GL month‑end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations.
• Develop relationships and work effectively with teams outside of accounting, including procure‑to‑pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, order‑to‑cash, supply chain, among others.
• Demonstrate extreme ownership of assigned accounts, which may include inventory, deferred commissions, marketable securities and investments, complex bank account arrangements, and accounts payable and receivable related accounts.
• Help implement process improvements by identifying weaknesses in the close process.
• Champion role model and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of operational accounting processes (accruals, account reconciliation, month‑end / year‑end close).
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Demonstrated English proficiency.
• CPA (or equivalent) or interest in obtaining CPA (or equivalent).
