Job Description:
This position is accountable for managing Pipe Coatings customers in Europe and North Africa, primarily focusing on powder and liquid coatings. The segment includes pipe mills, pipe coaters, valve and fittings manufacturers, and field joint coaters. It involves both technical and sales responsibilities.
The role reports to the Segment Director, EMEAI, and can be home-based within Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Sherwin-Williams' relationship with designated customers in the EU as the single point of contact.
- Analyze market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials to screen potential business deals.
- Negotiate and develop contracts, coordinate requirements, and integrate contract requirements with business operations to close new deals.
- Maintain confidentiality to protect the organization's value.
- Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, reading publications, networking, and participating in professional organizations.
- Develop and implement account plans and strategies for each sub-segment.
- Respond to customer inquiries, apply product knowledge, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and promptly, including sales and monthly reports, and lab requests.
- Gather and report market intelligence.
- Attend industry and trade shows, and network effectively within the industry.
- Manage P&L responsibilities for assigned accounts.
Technical Service and Approval Responsibilities:
- Participate in product trials, project startups, and provide technical support to ensure coating system performance and process efficiencies.
- Act as a trusted technical consultant, leveraging Sherwin-Williams' strengths in technology, quality, and speed.
- Support R&D activities by prioritizing product development based on market and product needs.
- Attend technical meetings with end users and engineering companies to secure product approvals and specifications.
- Coordinate with related functions within the company to support product development and production activities.
Qualifications:
- Material or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
- Fluency in English and additional languages.
- Flexibility to travel within the EMEAI region.
- Excellent communication and technical skills.
- 10+ years of industry experience in pipe coatings.
