Job summary
A global semiconductor company is seeking a Software Engineer for Microcontroller Tool Development based in Padova, Italy. You will design, develop, and maintain Eclipse IDE Plugins while collaborating with a worldwide team. Ideal candidates possess strong skills in Java and TypeScript, along with experience in embedded software development. Fluency in English is required. This role supports innovation in power systems and IoT.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience in Java / TypeScript / object-oriented programming skills.
- Good knowledge of software design and architectural patterns would be a plus.
- Experience with version control (git) and code management (Bitbucket/GitLab).
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and maintenance for Eclipse IDE Plugins.
- Support the design, development, and maintenance for VSCode/Eclipse Theia Plugins.
- Actively participate in troubleshooting and debugging activities.
- Work closely with other developers and technical team.

You will implement, troubleshoot, and debug software tools and collaborate with the development team to ensure project success.
- Support the design, development, and maintenance for Eclipse IDE Plugins
- Support the design, development, and maintenance for VSCode/Eclipse Theia Plugins
- Actively participate in troubleshooting and debugging activities
- Work closely with other developers and technical team spread around the world
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field
- Experience in Java / TypeScript / object-oriented programming skills
- Good knowledge of software design and architectural patterns (ISO/OSI architecture, microservices, UML, SysML) would be a plus, but not mandatory
- Experience with version control (git) and code management (Bitbucket/GitLab)
- Fluency in English (mandatory)
- Experience in embedded software development in C
- Experience in software development in Rust
- Knowledge of build tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Experience in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub
- Experience with Eclipse IDE plugins / VSCode extensions development
- Proven knowledge on project management and tools like Jira/GitLab/GitHub
