Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated SOFTWARE ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Turin, Italy.

Accountabilities

• Support requirements management throughout all software lifecycle phases according to company standards.
• Contribute to designing and implementing complete solutions, including modules, documentation, and tools, following company processes.
• Ensure proper operation of software on applicable platforms.
• Provide support to other functional units such as RAMS, Verification, Testing & Commissioning.
• Apply common methodologies, technical solutions, and best practices consistent with the Development function and company standards.

Job requirements

Required Skills / Knowledge :

• Experience with Bootstrap, AngularJS
• Experience with CI systems
• Experience with Cassandra DB
• Knowledge of developing software in a Linux environment, including shell scripting
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to networking and systems protection
• Experience with networking concepts, including routing, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls
• Experience with CI/CD, static code analysis, branching, versioning, and DevOps practices
• Experience implementing and maintaining mission-critical enterprise systems
• Experience developing distributed, scalable, high-volume transaction applications
• Building enterprise-class, multi-process, fault-tolerant, load-balanced, multi-tiered systems
• Proficiency in Java
• Experience with Spring Boot, JavaScript, JQuery
• Applying Object-Oriented Design principles and patterns
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3
• Understanding of application architecture and design patterns
• Knowledge of Microservice architecture

Education required :

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electronics, Telecommunications, Automation Engineering, or Informatics

Language :

English : Upper intermediate level required
