Position Summary
The TAS is a field-based, customer-facing role designed to drive demand for BMS medicines within the portfolio for appropriate patients. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs, liaises with other BMS functions to deliver a high-quality Customer Experience, and aligns with BMS values while meeting business results and performance objectives.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Promotion: Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Demonstrates scientific rationale for product use to appropriate patients and maintains high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans; uses tools to derive insights and informs call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Identifies new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase brand share; manages territory and account plans to drive growth.
- Coordinates with hospital stakeholders to ensure funding and stock availability to meet patient demand.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources; presents information to HCPs consistent with label and scientific accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information with HCPs.
- Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from approved lists and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge on emerging data for approved indications and supports Medical in addressing questions.
- Maintains consistent customer contact and delivers calls per agreed criteria.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure optimal Customer Experience for HCPs.
- Shares relevant insights internally to enable better service; works with commercial functions to ensure timely product delivery to hospitals.
Compliance
- Works in accordance with BMS policy and applicable codes of practice; aligns with a culture of compliance to meet ethical standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse roles.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to physicians to serve patients.
- Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience.
- Experience in hematology is required.
- Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
