Are you an exceptional Industrial, Systems, or Quality Engineer who thrives on the challenge of ensuring world‑class performance of complex, automated facilities? Do you have a passion for defining and implementing robust testing and verification processes? Then we want to talk to you!

I'm building an elite team of engineers focused on redefining how we test and qualify our large fulfillment operations. Your mission will be to define the standard for what success looks like, and to verify that our systems are installed and commissioned to that high bar.

Ultimate Goal
  • No surprises when we launch a new facility with empowered operations and maintenance teams
  • Every customer receives their packages on time, every time
In this role, you will:
  • Define world‑class testing standards for our material handling and robotic systems
  • Design test methodologies based on the defined standards
  • Develop comprehensive validation strategies to ensure flawless performance
  • Mentor and develop our engineering talent
  • Collaborate seamlessly across teams to drive operational excellence
  • Directly influence and contribute to future design requirements for design and installation
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical testing methods for mission‑critical features
  • Inspect the results of the testing and continuously refine and improve the testing methodologies – defining what ‘good’ looks like
  • Establish and oversee quality metrics and improvement initiatives that scale across our network
  • Drive engineering excellence for complete system implementations
  • Foster collaboration between engineers, vendors, customers, and business stakeholders
  • Champion data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement
A Day in the Life
  • 30% domestic travel
  • PLC programming (Ladder Logic/Structured Text)
  • Ability to code in SQL, Python or C/C++
  • Innovative design and implementation ideas for our material handling equipment and conveyor systems
  • Complex system testing, commissioning, verification, and validation
  • Responsible for identifying risk and developing test strategies to mitigate that risk
  • Designing and implementing systems within large‑scale industrial or logistics facilities, preferably large fulfillment centers
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience writing technical documents, project plans and progress reports to leadership and to stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial), or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in complex system testing, commissioning, verification, and validation
  • Experience designing and implementing systems within large‑scale industrial or logistics facilities
  • Experience with Operational Technology interfacing patterns
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and lifesite operations
  • Experience in creating and implementing standards with respect to testing and commissioning large scale highly automated complex warehousing systems
  • Familiarity with Amazon's warehouse operations and automation technologies (preferred)
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams
  • Experience developing and executing multi‑year technology roadmaps
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and build consensus across organizations
  • Expert in identifying risk and developing test strategies to mitigate that risk
  • Futuristic visionary who thrives on automating mundane tasks and thinking big!
