Senior Service Engineer – Customer Support

Job Summary

As a Senior Field Service Representative (FSR), you will be the primary contact for VMS customers, ensuring equipment operates efficiently through troubleshooting, repairs, installations, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and upgrade VMS equipment within an assigned service territory.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and installations per VMS guidelines.
  • Manage schedules for maintenance tasks, installations, upgrades, and emergency calls.
  • Assess urgency of customer requests and follow through to completion.
  • Escalate incidents when necessary or request assistance from senior representatives.
  • Resolve difficult customer issues and meet established service level agreements.
  • Maintain effective territory management and expense control, including timely submission of service reports.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through clear written and verbal communication.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical documentation, standards, and principles in field service.
  • Experience handling complex, multi‑site, multi‑vendor customer environments.
  • Proficiency with server and desktop hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Capability to perform maintenance and release upgrades independently while supervising other FSRs.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date certification status.
  • Proficient at defusing difficult customer situations.
Vendor Credentialing Requirements
  • Full access to VMS client sites, including compliance with vendor credentialing such as valid ID, background checks, drug screening, immunizations, TB testing, and health screenings.
  • Availability to meet all credentialing requirements throughout employment.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate degree, technical/vocational training, or military experience.
  • 3–8 years of related field service engineering experience.
