Product Marketing Segmentation Lead – ABB E-mobility

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Marketing Segmentation Lead for Public Charging to champion the voice of the customer across Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Retail & Destination segments. You will play a strategic role in driving growth by shaping market‑facing narratives, segment strategies, and solution‑focused go‑to‑market plans. This is a high‑impact role at the intersection of product, sales, and customer success.

Responsibilities
  • Segment Go‑to‑Market Leadership: Develop and execute go‑to‑market plans for Public Charging solutions across CPO and Retail segments, including launch strategy, solution bundles, and sales enablement.
  • Segment Messaging and Positioning: Define differentiated messaging and value propositions tailored to the needs of utility‑driven CPOs, retail networks, and destination site operators.
  • Segment Strategy and Market Fit: Act as the customer advocate to product teams by bringing market insights, competitive intelligence, and segment requirements into the product development cycle.
  • Commercial Solution Ownership: Collaborate with sales, business development, and pricing teams to shape compelling commercial offers that reflect the business models and ROI needs of public charging operators.
  • Capture and Growth Strategy: Analyze trends, define target opportunities, and develop strategies to capture share in high‑growth sub‑segments including convenience retail, EV‑first networks, and destination fleets.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership: Partner with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams to align customer use cases, define solution outcomes, and ensure internal teams are equipped to win in the segment.
  • Thought Leadership and Evangelism: Represent the segment internally and externally, building awareness and alignment around the evolving needs of public charging customers.
  • Business Model Innovation: Explore emerging business models in public charging (e.g., S.a.a.S, revenue‑share models) and integrate these into go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Metrics and Measurement: Define and track OKRs for solution adoption, commercial impact, and market share growth across CPO and retail customer segments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing Engineering, or a related discipline). A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 8‑12 years of proven experience in product marketing/product management, preferably B2B/B2C in a tech/platform capacity.
  • Strong familiarity with the public charging ecosystem, CPO operations, or EV‑focused retail and site development is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and compelling messaging.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing impactful marketing collateral, including sales enablement materials, presentations, and web content based on previous product launches.
  • Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and collaborate with teams such as product management, sales, client success, and engineering.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and driving positive environmental impact.
