The Opportunity

We are looking for an Environmental and Territorial Engineer to join our Milan team. The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  • Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA)
  • Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
  • Integrated Environmental Authorizations (IED)
  • Project sustainability analyses with a focus on traffic, air quality, noise, ecology, and biodiversity, public health
As An Engineer At Arup, You Will
  • Perform environmental and territorial impact assessments for infrastructure and development projects, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities to guide sustainable decision‑making.
  • Analyse environmental data, spatial information, and regulatory requirements to develop evidence‑based technical reports and recommendations that influence project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, authorities, and stakeholders to integrate environmental protection strategies and ensure compliance with national and international standards.
  • Conduct field inspections and site assessments to gather on‑site insights, validate environmental conditions, and support the implementation of mitigation and monitoring plans.

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Environmental and Territorial Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Registration with the Professional Order (or eligibility for registration).
  • Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro and familiarity with spatial data analysis.
  • Practical exposure through internships or extracurricular activities in the environmental or infrastructure fields.
  • Working knowledge of technical software, including AutoCAD, noise and air quality modelling, and transport modelling.
