• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• Experience in design and implementation of virtualized architectures.
• Knowledge of shell scripting and Railways and Metro Automation.

Overview

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT & CONTROL FUNCTIONAL DESIGN ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Turin (Italy).

Mission

Deliver the HW and Firmware configuration of COTS needed for Automation project in accordance with industry and company standards.

Accountabilities

• WITH REFERENCE TO THE ASSIGNED PART OF HW PLATFORM ENGINEER
• Design the technical solution for the automation platform
• Configure different types of device server, storage, network and client
• RDBMS installation and management
• Production of technical documentation
• On site installation
• Problem solving capabilities

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent technical background
• Knowledge in design and implementation of virtualized architectures (HW, Hypervisor and SW architecture)
• Knowledge of Operating Systems Linux based
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, VLANs
• Knowledge of principal RDBMS (e.g. Oracle)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and User Graphic tools
• Knowledge and/or experience with Railways and Metro Automation
• Knowledge of shell scripting
• Knowledge of Docker platform

Languages

Good English proficiency
