A leading environmental services company is seeking a Health & Safety Manager for its site in Fidenza, Italy. This role entails ensuring safe operations in compliance with legislation and company policies, implementing SHEQ processes, and providing training. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry or Engineering, with at least 4 years of relevant experience, particularly in chemical or environmental sectors. Proficiency in English is required. This is a full-time mid-senior level position.

Competenze

• 4 years’ experience as Health and Safety technician/manager, ideally in relevant industries.
• Ability to apply safety and technical knowledge to complex problems.
• Ability to work unsupervised and respond quickly to operational requirements.

Mansioni

We have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Italy!

Based in Fidenza and reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible, in collaboration with the European Technical Director, to ensure that the site operates safely and effectively in line with current legislation and company policies. You must establish and provide competent Safety, Health and Environmental advice and guidance to the plant, namely to the Operations & Engineering teams.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the effective implementation, ongoing maintenance and monitoring of SHEQ processes.
• Control the daily SHEQ processes on‑site, especially for key site functions (lab, engineering).
• Liaise with external and internal auditors, assessors and regulators to ensure full compliance with both the legal local requirements and Tradebe policies.
• Liaise with ARPAE and Vigili del Fuoco to ensure that all the requirements defined within the AIA and the CIP are in compliance, in control, reported in time and efficiently managed.
• Provide in‑house safety and environment training to operators.
• Support and assist with the assessments of risks and providing SHEQ advice in respect of complex and/or hazard activities.

Skills & Requirements

• Science degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
• 4 years’ experience as Health and Safety technician/manager, ideally in the chemical or oil industries, gas services or waste management.
• Knowledge on Solvent Management and Recycling, Environmental Management Services, Process Safety, Occupational Health & Safety (Legislation, Guidance and Standards).
• Aware of IPPC permits, AIA and ICP regulations.
• Ability to apply safety and technical knowledge to complex problems in a clear and creative way.
• Ability to work unsupervised and to respond quickly to requirements of various operations managers.
• Advanced English.
