Who are we looking for?

The Continuous Improvement Engineer (Digital) is responsible for analyzing and optimizing business processes, implementing Lean methodologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. This role focuses on systems and process excellence, driving sustainable improvements and supporting strategic goals.

Element Solutions is committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Continuous Improvement Engineer (Digital) will play a key role in optimizing the systems footprint and ensuring reliable, cost-effective quality systems that allow teams to exceed customer expectations.

What will you be doing?
  • Act as a global reference point for continuous improvement activities related to Systems (ERPs, Data Analytics, Transactional software, KPI reporting, etc) within the MEIS Supply Chain.
  • Lead process analysis and optimization initiatives to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for measurable improvements.
  • Implement and train teams in Lean principles and tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Act as the lead for GPO (Global Process Owners) for the ERP transformation project(s) and in steady state.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, ensuring objectives and project goals and deadlines are met and transformations are sustained.
  • Manage and empower improvement teams, providing training, mentoring, and guidance on new processes and Lean principles.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to set goals, drive improvements, and ensure open communication regarding project status.
  • Research industry best practices and establish benchmark data to guide improvements and enhance overall organizational performance.
  • Support global project planning and act as a reference point in structuring projects in their initial phases.
  • Assist in transfer of technology and best practices across regions.
  • Create presentations and organize/lead team meetings.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.

What competencies will you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a science or engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the Quality or Continuous Improvement field.
  • Experience managing CI in complex, varied manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt Six sigma required – Master BB or Facilitator training are a plus).
  • Working knowledge of the chemical sector or similar manufacturing environment – having worked in the industry will be considered a plus.
  • Project Manager Certification is a plus.
  • Black Belt Six Sigma Certification.
  • Lean Facilitator.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents in English.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community.
  • Ability to write and present information to top management and public groups.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
