A leading aerospace company in Italy is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to define and implement commercial legal strategies. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, providing legal counsel on contract execution, and mitigating risks. The ideal candidate holds a law degree, is admitted to practice in an EU member state, and is fluent in English and Italian. Based in Rivalta di Torino, as Senior Commercial Counsel you will contribute to defining and implementing, with the guidance of a more senior counsel, the commercial legal strategies for Avio Aero. The main responsibilities include contract review and customer‑facing negotiation, legal support on project execution, dispute management, and sourcing.
Structure, draft, and negotiate domestic and international commercial and financing agreements to support business objectives.
Provide proactive legal counsel on contract execution, interpretation, and other operational matters.
Share lessons learned and best practices across the GE Aerospace legal community to foster continuous improvement.
and address legal issues related to contracts and claims, ensuring effective risk mitigation.
Oversee commercial legal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
Identify training needs and deliver targeted legal and contractual training for commercial and sourcing teams.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industry trends to support commercial objectives and enhance competitive differentiation.
Develop strategies and provide support for negotiations with suppliers and customers.
Manage legal escalations related to service delivery, quality concerns, invoicing, and payment issues.
Support cost reduction and revenue growth initiatives while ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks.
Drive process optimization, reduce inefficiencies, and promote discipline and accountability to enable business growth and mitigate risks.
Stay abreast of EU cyber and privacy regulations, support the implementation of new technology and systems driving continuous improvement of Avio Aero cyber, privacy and data regulatory compliance.
Law degree from a highly respected university with superior academic record.
Admitted to practice law in an EU Member State.
Solid experience in general commercial and corporate law, preferably in a reputable law firm.
Demonstrated organisational skills and business judgment.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with persuasive written and verbal communication abilities, and a strong sense of decisiveness.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a complex and matrixed organization, with cross‑functional teams and manage numerous varied tasks simultaneously.
Availability to travel up to ~20% of time.
Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
Work visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
Law firm or in‑house experience in commercial, litigation, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate finance.
Familiarity with GDPR and understanding the interdependencies that link cyber and privacy issues to other business imperatives.
