The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team supports and facilitates the development of a robust ESG strategy, as well as ensuring that our sustainability activities go beyond just compliance.

We want to deliver an industry-leading ESG programme as well as raise awareness of all Colt employees, customers and partners. As a global leader in digital infrastructure, we are taking governance responsibilities. We are committed to helping our customers, suppliers and strategic partners achieve this also.

This role plays a key part in advancing our ESG strategy and vision by leading Colt’s Circular Economy initiatives.

As Circular Economy & Sustainable Product Business you will partner which relevant teams such as Product, Innovation and Procurement to embed ESG by Design principles throughout our Portfolio and within Colt’s organisation.

In addition, this position will be instrumental in driving the success of Colt’s decarbonisation program as this role has a significant impact on our ability to reduce Colt’s carbon footprint.

What you will do
  • Lead and further develop additional ESG workstreams to advance Colt’s Circular Economy and Sustainable Product Design Strategy
  • Serve as Colt’s subject matter expert on Circular Economy and ESG by Design, with a strong focus on Life Cycle Assessment
  • Lead the engagement with Product, Commercial, Operations, Procurement and other internal teams to strengthen Colt’s ESG Value Proposition to our customers while improving our position as Sustainability Industry Leaders.
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation and ongoing monitoring of Colt’s Decarbonisation Roadmap.
  • Act as the link between the ESG team and Sales colleagues to drive the ESG value proposition for customers as well as assisting with ad hoc bid support requests
  • Stay abreast of industry changes and best practice, conducting research on sustainable product design, circular economy, sustainable supply chains and translate into meaningful business action
  • Partnering and liaising with relevant external bodies to strengthen our approach and share best practice (i.e. UNGC, TechUK, Consultants)
  • Work with business leads, Carbon Accounting Lead and external consultants to develop metrics and dashboards which provide meaningful insights for all levels and functions
  • Assist in the development of policies, processes, guidelines and schedules aimed at promoting circular economy, sustainable product design, decarbonisation
  • Link with the ESG Executive and the Commercial team to define and drive internal and external ESG communications requirements, promoting the sustainability value proposition
What we look for
  • Prior working experience in designing and implementing Circular Economy strategies and Sustainable Product Design frameworks within international organisations following main international standards (ISO 59010, ISO 14067, EU Directives, ITU, etc.)
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience in Life Cycle Assessment and Product Carbon Footprint quantification, ideally within the IT sector, in alignment with recognized standards
  • Proven experience and knowledge in defining and implementing decarbonisation roadmaps
  • Bring your passion for telco and sustainability to tackle real‑world challenges and drive impactful solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and English business level, we want to bring the sustainability narrative to life
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, effectively collaborating with and influencing a diverse spectrum of internal and external stakeholders across all organisational levels.
  • Collaborative approach to sometimes complex sustainability solutions
  • Strong understanding of the sustainability landscape with the ability to explain in a meaningful way to various stakeholder levels
  • Prior experience researching and writing reports and briefing notes accessible to a wide and varied audience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Sustainability qualification is desirable, experience is key
  • Understanding of EU Taxonomy, CSRD requirements is a plus
  • Previous experience in global function and business would be advantageous – matrixed environment.
  • Proven experience of proactively leading workstreams across a global organisation
