A leading security technology company is seeking a Business Development Manager to promote its brand and drive sales in Italy. The ideal candidate will have experience in the CCTV industry, strong customer relationship skills, and the ability to develop commercial proposals. This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel throughout Italy. Knowledge of network video systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • In coordination with the local and international Sales, Business Development and Marketing organizations, form close relationships with end users, consultants and specifiers in the Video Security Channel to promote the Hanwha brand, and to increase sales and demand for Hanwha security products.
  • Achieve set objectives relating to all relevant sales and product quantity mix, including strategic and active analysis of market opportunities, influencing decision makers and ensuring sales growth.
  • Strategic planning — both short and medium term sales planning conducted regularly following sales workshops, liaising with the Hanwha Product Management team to share market information to ensure correct positioning of Hanwha products in the market. Provide recommendations on marketing plans and new/revised strategic direction with the Country Manager.
  • Properly manage and develop a network of partners (integrators and installers) within the Hanwha channel partner programme (STEP Programme), with responsibility for sales revenue generated through assigned Partners.
  • Support activity of Strategic Sales Managers for opportunities identified in the assigned region within defined Strategic Vertical Markets.
  • Areas of responsibility will include the following (but not limited to): End user consultations; Consultants and specifiers; Liaising with major System integrators at senior level; Ensure actual customer bases are kept updated with product information; Increase project pipeline and revenue with existing active customers; Create a project pipeline with new customers; Report on a weekly basis on sales and project progress; Existing customer audit analysis; Product and market segmentation, positioning and targeting; Input of ideas towards marketing plans for new product launches and customer events; Focus on product/channel/customer margin; Accuracy of forecasting; Achievement of all budgets and targets.
Requirements
  • A proven track record in a business development or sales role, achieving sales in a demanding environment.
  • Extensive experience of CCTV and associated technologies, or similar market segment, in particular presenting relevant solutions to end users and consultants / specifiers.
  • Capability to work independently in understanding customer needs, defining solutions and creating professional commercial proposals to customers (system integrators, end-user).
  • Must have knowledge of the market, main channels and potential customers within the electronic security market, IT & Networking.
  • Previous experience working for a CCTV manufacturer would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Good understanding of new technologies, especially network video systems and their topology.
  • Business or Technical Degree Level Education would be advantageous.
  • PC Literate — intermediate & advanced Microsoft Office skills to include Excel.
  • A desire to make a positive impact on the market and brand recognition.
  • Ability to develop strong and lasting relationships with both internal company Directors/colleagues and key clients.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and good clear judgement.
  • Ability to demonstrate motivation of teams to achieve targets.
  • A team player who demonstrates success in team situations.
  • Logical and well organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Displays a proactive approach and is a ‘solution finder’.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative.
  • Project Management, Product Planning, and strong communication skills required with the ability to present at board level to Blue Chip companies, and to communicate on all levels in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • English language essential plus at least one local European language.
  • Clean Driving License.
Location

This is a field based role, but the jobholder will ideally live in the Milan area or in the South region. This role will involve extensive travel within Italy on a regular basis, specifically in the assigned area in South Italy, and travel outside of Italy may be required from time to time.
