A. Main Purpose of the Role :

Mars Renewable (MARS) is dedicated to the global Battery Storage Business, with the aim to become a global leader of battery solution provider. Our team combined has established a track record of 2+ GW of grid-connected renewable projects globally.

Mars Renewable Europe Project Development team is looking for a highly accomplished renewable energy business development leader to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong entrepreneur to advance their career to the next level. Reporting to the regional head of Europe project development, this position will work with cross-functional teams to deliver successful battery storage projects.

B. Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Originate and manage C&I and utility scale Battery Storage / Solar plus Storage project development opportunities, oversee site control, interconnection, and permitting process.
  • Direct project development activities to reach Notice to Proceed (NTP) status by managing the relationship with the relevant stakeholders such as the developers, authorities, land owners, grid operators, offtakers, and advisors, etc.
  • Lead deal structuring and commercial negotiations with developers for project acquisition or other partnership structures such as development services agreement or joint development agreement.
  • Coordinate the tasks and inputs of the supporting functions such as Legal, Technical Solution, Finance, and Project Delivery.
  • Coordinate financial modelling to assess project economics.
  • Prospect and contract suitable greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Keep fully informed in a timely manner on market development and industry policies / regulations in order to quickly identify business opportunities.
C. Requirements :
  • Track record of successfully negotiating and closing commercial transactions with Landlords, Developers, Utilities, Technical Advisor, Regulatory Agencies, and Offtakers.
  • BS degree required, MBA or relevant master degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Solar / Storage industry, specific regional regulations, and market mechanisms.
  • The following experience are a plus : IPP project acquisition, community solar, national and regional grid analysis, multinational environment, legal, and full cycle development, etc.
