Amazon is looking for an AVS Manager in Retail Business Services (RBS). The AVS Manager at RBS leads a product family/marketplace and manages a large group of strategic vendors through a team of Team Leads and Brand Specialists.
Key job responsibilities:
- Deliver impact to a large group of strategic vendors, both directly and through a team of Team Leads/Brand Specialists reporting to you.
- Ensure vendors improve performance across key retail metrics and maintain high satisfaction with the service.
- Continuously improve team productivity and collaborate with Vendor Managers, Retail Category leads, and in‑country AVS Product Family owners to define goals and targets.
- Contribute to continuous enhancements and innovation within the service.
- Operate as a business owner, developing, implementing, and iterating data, processes, and guardrails to improve the customer experience.
- Lead a team of managers focused on strategic and operational aspects of vendor business with Amazon.
A day in the life:
- Manage a team of managers, prioritize strategic initiatives, and provide escalation support as needed.
- Measure success by internal team performance and vendor impact on customer experience.
- Identify, act, and advise on business input metrics that drive growth and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a thought leader, defining success criteria and understanding business needs of Selling Partners in a changing environment.
- Contribute to and lead strategic plans and documents for the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 10+ years of experience in service delivery, operations, or project management in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment; account management background preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in people management and complex metrics management or complex project management.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in Japanese, and strong reading and writing skills in English.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, dynamic, and fast‑paced "internet‑speed" environment with tight deadlines.
- A genuine passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Exceptional skills in data manipulation and analysis.
- High attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Language proficiency recommended: English, Japanese, Mandarin.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant work experience.
- Project management experience and a project management certification.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Overseas work or study experience.
- Experience or skills in an IT or engineering environment.
- MBA.
