A leading rail technology company is seeking an Associate Product Compliance Specialist to join their team in Italy. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing compliance-related documentation and analyses for hazardous substances and fire safety regulations. Candidates should possess a University Degree in a relevant engineering field and show a proactive approach in managing tasks. Competenze

• Basic knowledge about fire protection standards for Rolling Stock.
• Understanding of lifecycle assessment methodologies.

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Associate Product Compliance Specialist who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples (NA) or Tito Scalo (PZ).

Accountabilities

• Prepare the dossiers related to fire smoke regulations EN45545;
• Be in charge of the Compliance Analysis in accordance with the regulations that control hazardous substances in electrical / electronic equipment and lifecycle assessment according to Regulation REACH (1907 / 2006 / EU) and ROHS (2011 / 65 / EU as amended);
• Prepare dossiers relating to the regulation for the control of exports brokering technical assistance transit and transfer of dual‑use items (EU and US Regulations);

Develop innovative methodologies to be applied as standards in the design process of products and solutions.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Basic knowledge about EN454545 – Standard for fire protection for Rolling Stock;
• Basic knowledge about LCA Methodologies;
• Basic knowledge with management and understanding of information related to electrical / electronic / mechanical components;
• Able to work autonomously and be proactive in the management of the tasks;
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
• Willing to work in an international team and environment;

Education

University Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferable), Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent technical / scientific background.

Languages

Fluent knowledge of English.
