Overview

The person would oversee and cultivate a "bio" kitchen garden exclusively for the use of the company’s accommodation business, acting in all tasks as Reschio Brand Ambassador. He / She will manage a cold and a hot greenhouse to propagate, on a small scale, ornamental plants and vegetables. He / She will look after the whole area of activity giving maximum attention to quality and aesthetics. There would be a trial period before being hired.

Responsibilities

• Programme the quantity and produce necessary for the needs of the company;
• Planning logistics and organisation of work; selection and propagation of vegetable and ornamental plants;
• Cultivate, harvest by hand and deliver the produce to the company location where required;
• Supervise production and quality control;
• Update commercial budget and check shortfalls in prefixed objectives;
• Help with the promotion of those products for the end-user clients;
• Maintain records of income, expenses, maintenance, etc.;
• Be a team player, sharing important information in an appropriate manner adjusting his / her communication style according to the situation; liaise with other colleagues giving clear instructions about task, follow up activities and outcomes;
• Take care of relationships and planning work with suppliers;
• Collaborate with the Administration team and attend the weekly meeting.

Skills and competencies

• At least 7 years previous experience in similar role in a dynamic environment;
• Degree in agronomy or diploma from agricultural expert;
• Deepen knowledge of agronomic techniques both Biological and / or Biodynamic;
• Knowledge of applied Botany, of techniques of propagation and management of the irrigation installation;
• Knowledge of the principal diseases of vegetable and garden plants;
• Strong communication skills and active listening;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player and have a pro-active approach;
• Problem solving and analytical thinking;
• Strong organizational skills and be able to demonstrate strict confidentiality;
• Fluent in English and Italian.
