Position: Accounts Payable Accountant

Location: Italy (Milan area)

Who are we recruiting for?

Our client is a global energy solutions provider operating across multiple international markets. The company is active in delivering sustainable energy infrastructure and services, supporting the energy transition through innovative and efficient solutions. This role will support the Italian legal entities and work closely with both the local finance team and the global shared services structure.

What will you be doing?
  • You will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle, including the recording and verification of supplier invoices in line with company policies and the execution of weekly payment runs.
  • You will monitor accounts payable ageing, manage vendor enquiries, and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with project managers and suppliers.
  • You will perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable and related balance sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
  • You will support month-end and year-end closing activities, preparing journal entries mainly related to cash accounts, prepaid expenses and other accounting areas as required.
  • You will monitor economic and financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal procedures and accounting standards.
  • You will collaborate closely with the Accounting & Finance teams in Milan and the United States to support and improve internal accounts payable and administrative processes.
Are you the ideal candidate?
  • You hold a diploma in accounting or a degree in economics or finance.
  • You have proven experience in a similar accounts payable or accounting role, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • You demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles, including Italian GAAP and US GAAP.
  • You are confident using ERP systems and IT tools, particularly Microsoft Dynamics and Excel.
  • You have a good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • You are a team player with the ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently in a high‑volume transactional environment.
  • You show strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
