Overview
As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure MEP construction projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with approved plans.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the Master/Baseline Schedule (Level 1–3).
- Coordinate procurement (long-lead items: UPS, Chiller, DG, MV/LV) and construction activities.
- Develop area/zone/system-based schedules (per data hall/building), including:
- Weekly and monthly progress updates
- Physical progress validation against schedule
- Delay, slippage, and float analysis
- Preparation of recovery and catch-up schedules
Coordinate and synchronize schedules with:- Civil & Structural teams
- Client, PMC, and Operations teams
Manage inter-system dependencies to ensure proper workflow sequencing.Track procurement and vendor schedules, including:- Shop drawing approvals
- Integration of vendor schedules into the master schedule
Prepare the Testing & Commissioning (T&C) sequence, including:- Individual system tests
- Integrated System Test (IST)
- Reliability testing (24h/72h)
Prepare weekly and monthly reports, covering:- Schedule status
- Progress curve (S-Curve)
- Key issues and mitigation plans
Provide schedule data and analysis, including:- Internal management reports
- Delay responsibility analysis
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- 1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- 2. Minimum 3-5 Years as a Project Planner / Planning Engineer in MEP construction projects. Experience in high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, or data center projects is an advantage.
- 3. Technical Skills (Mandatory):
- Proficient in Primavera P6 (mandatory).
- Proficient in Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling methods (WBS, CPM, critical path analysis).
- Ability to prepare S-curves, cash flow projections, and manpower histograms.
- Solid understanding of MEP construction workflows (engineering, procurement, construction).
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and technical specifications.
- 4. Planning & Analysis Skills:
- Experience in progress tracking and schedule variance analysis.
- Ability to perform delay analysis and develop recovery schedules.
- Experience preparing weekly, monthly, and executive-level reports.
- 5. Soft Skills (Mandatory):
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
- 6. Certifications (Preferred / Added Value):
- Planning Engineer or Project Control Certification.
- Occupational Health & Safety (HSE / K3) certification is an advantage.
