Job summary

A leading trading company based in Jakarta Utara is seeking an experienced professional to manage international trading operations of palm oil and its derivatives. The role involves executing trades, managing supply chain logistics, and ensuring compliance with international regulations. Job description
Global Trading & Execution
  • Execute international and domestic physical trading of palm oil, palm kernel, and their derivatives.
  • Monitor and analyze global market trends (including BMD, CBOT linked markets), geopolitical developments, and policy changes to independently develop and execute trading strategies.
Cross-Border Supply Chain & Risk Management
  • Manage end-to-end international supply chain from procurement to delivery, including coordination with shipping, logistics, and LC documentation.
  • Identify and proactively manage risks related to FX, credit, performance, and price volatility, including the use of derivatives for hedging when necessary.
Customer & Partner Network Development
  • Expand and maintain strategic relationships with international plantations, refineries, food manufacturers, and financial institutions.
  • Demonstrate strong cross-cultural negotiation and communication skills.
Commercial Analysis & Compliance
  • Conduct fundamental market research and provide regular trading P&L and market analysis reports.
  • Ensure all trading activities fully comply with international trade regulations, internal risk control policies, and sustainability certification requirements (e.g., RSPO).
Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with logistics, finance, risk management, and operations teams to ensure smooth trade execution and settlement.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Finance, Agriculture, Trade, or related disciplines.
    • Minimum 3–5 years of proven trading experience with a major palm oil trading company or integrated agribusiness group, with a strong track record.
  • Technical & Industry Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of the full palm oil value chain, global pricing mechanism, and Incoterms.
    • Basic knowledge of futures markets is a strong advantage.
  • Global Mindset & Skillset
    • Language: Fluent in English for professional writing and business negotiations.
    • Proficiency in Mandarin or other regional languages is a strong competitive advantage.
    • Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and capability to make decisive decisions in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure trading environment.
