Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager - REMOTE. The Senior Portfolio Manager will play a pivotal role in coaching and managing a team dedicated to safeguarding and growing the organization’s assets. This leadership will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure consistent underwriting processes. The role entails driving performance, maintaining credit quality, and aligning teams to enhance the client experience. The ideal candidate is a strategic partner, focusing on portfolio growth and profitability while navigating the complexities of commercial credit management.

Accountabilities
  • Provide state-level leadership over underwriting and portfolio management, partnering closely with Sales throughout the full deal lifecycle.
  • Oversee credit analysis, risk ratings, deal structures, and ongoing portfolio monitoring to ensure strong credit quality within the organization’s risk appetite.
  • Champion the Deal Team model, aligning Underwriters, Commercial Relationship Managers, and Loan Officer Assistants to drive consistency and an enhanced client experience.
  • Manage workflow, cycle time, and resource allocation statewide to balance quality, efficiency, and speed to market.
  • Drive accountability and performance through coaching, quality scorecards, and collaboration with key partners on talent development and evaluations.
  • Partner with the State President, Regional Credit Manager, and internal stakeholders to achieve portfolio growth, profitability, and enterprise objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management, with a preference for knowledge in specialized lines such as CRE, Middle Market, ABL, and Not for Profit lending.
  • 5+ years management/leadership experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of credit policy, risk analysis, and loan documentation.
  • Understanding of financial analysis, statements, and accounting concepts.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state banking regulations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong organization and time management skills, able to balance multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
