We represent a prestigious Indonesian fund in their search for an experienced Compliance Director. The main objective is to help them spearhead the development of a robust compliance framework

About the Compliance Director opportunity:

As a key member of the leadership team, the successful candidate will ensure that the fund remains fully compliant with all relevant regulations and laws. A range of day-to-day responsibilities would include:

  • Lead the design and establishment of a comprehensive compliance framework that aligns with the organization’s operational goals and meets all regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with the senior leadership and risk management teams to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the institution’s activities, particularly related to investment operations
  • Oversee the monitoring of investment activities, ensuring that all transactions and operations adhere to legal and regulatory standards. Provide regular compliance reports to the board and senior stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and act as a representative in any external audits or investigations

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12‑years’ experience in a compliance or regulatory role. Prior experience within a highly regulated environment is essential, and a legal background is also preferred

Skills and experience needed:
  • Proven track record in setting up and managing compliance frameworks from the ground up, particularly in fast‑paced, high‑regulation environments
  • Strong experience in managing cross‑functional teams and effectively collaborating with senior leadership and other departments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance issues to non‑executive stakeholders and senior leadership.
