A digital agency in the United Kingdom seeks a technical leader to build high-quality websites across various platforms like WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow. Responsibilities include creating standard operating procedures, reviewing code for accessibility and performance, and training the team on best practices. Applicants should have extensive experience across multiple platforms and a strong understanding of web standards. This position requires at least 4 hours of daily overlap with EST.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building sites across multiple platforms.
- Strong skills in WordPress, including custom themes and page builders.
- Solid knowledge of Shopify and Liquid for theme customization.
- Experience in writing documentation and creating processes.

- Build websites using custom code in WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow.
- Review code for accessibility, SEO, and performance issues.
- Create SOPs for development workflows across platforms.

We run a digital agency building websites across Shopify, WordPress, and Webflow. We need a technical leader who can both build high-quality sites AND create the systems to ensure our entire team does the same.
- Build websites using custom code and page builders (Elementor, Bricks, Breakdance, ACF) in Wordpress, Shopify, and Webflow
- Review code to catch accessibility, SEO, and performance issues before launch
- Create SOPs for development workflows across all platforms
- Establish quality standards - semantic HTML, WCAG compliance, performance optimization
- Audit existing projects and fix technical debt
- Train the team on best practices
- 5+ years building sites across multiple platforms (not just one CMS)
- Strong WordPress skills (custom themes, ACF, page builders)
- Solid Shopify experience (Liquid, theme customization)
- Working Webflow knowledge
- Deep understanding of semantic HTML, CSS architecture, and responsive design
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and why they matter
- Experience writing documentation and creating processes
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
- Only knows one platform
- Thinks accessibility is optional
- Can’t explain why code quality matters to business outcomes and uses sloppy code
- Defensive about feedback
- New projects scoring 85+ on Lighthouse (Performance & Accessibility)
- Zero accessibility violations on launches
- Clear SOPs the team actually follows
- Reduced development time through standardization
- Must have minimum 4 hours daily overlap with EST (Eastern Standard Time)
- Available during EST business hours on weekdays (at least until 4pm EST)
- Flexible beyond core collaboration hours
