Job description

We are outstanding, you can be too.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Assistant to help deliver strong marketing results across all areas of the charity. The successful candidate will join our small and friendly Marketing Team here at Portland College. This role will be based at our main campus in Mansfield with some travel required across our other sites in Nottinghamshire.

About the Role
  • Providing effective administration and logistical support to the Marketing team.
  • Managing financial administration, supplier relationships, and marketing enquiries.
  • Coordinating production of printed materials and monitoring media coverage.
  • Creating and updating engaging and informative digital content across websites and display areas.
  • Conducting photography/videography and editing materials using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Supporting events with planning, promotion, and on-the-day representation.
  • Managing college updates, email campaigns, and ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for marketing-related enquiries.
What we’re looking for
  • A Level 3 or higher qualification in Marketing
  • Formal training in Web Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress) and CRM databases
  • Excellent administration, organisation, and IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong communication skills with attention to detail and ability to tailor engaging content for different audiences
  • Technical marketing experience, including analytics and digital platforms
  • Photography/videography and editing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and very occasionally work evenings/weekends
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle

Qualifications needed

Essential

  • GCSE Maths & English (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Formal training on Web Content Management Systems including WordPress and Customer Relationship Management databases.
  • Level 3 or higher professional qualification in Marketing.

Desirable

  • Degree/postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Advertising or Design.
Working Hours

Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours, 9:00am – 5:00. Some flexibility may be possible, to be discussed at interview.
