If you are highly organised and love working within an admin environment, with an engaging clinician team as well as making a difference with direct impact to patient care, then this is the role for you.

The Dermatology Department at Colchester are looking for someone to support the Skin cancer pathway. This role will include ensuring no delays in the Skin cancer pathway and liaising regularly with various clinical and non clinical teams. This is a really important and rewarding role to make a real difference to patient care.

In this department you will be fully supported by the Operational Team with regular training and development.

If you are a motivated person with the ability to work well within a busy and rewarding environment, and wish to support and contribute to the delivery of high quality patient care, we would love to hear from you.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

Main duties of the job

In this post you will work collaboratively with both the Operational Team to support the Trust in achieving National Cancer Waiting Times Standards. You will be 'the key link' ensuring patients on a cancer pathway are processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with the Best Practice Pathways and the National Cancer Waiting time targets.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting blockages in patient pathways and providing proactive information in anticipation of potential problems, actively coming up with solutions and escalating as necessary to the Operational Team/Clinical lead and closing the loop on next steps.

You will work unsupervised for the majority of the time but will be supported, as necessary, by Dermatology with regular meetings. You should have the ability to work in a team and independently.

You will be required to contact patients and/or tertiary centres directly to facilitate a prompt resolution to any pathway issues or delays. You will also be responsible for tracking patient pathways and have regular communication with clinicians.
