North West/ temporary / £140 - 230 per day

English Teacher – Specialist Provision

Location: Ellesmere Port
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential to become permanent)

TeacherActive are excited to be working with a specialist education provision in the Ellesmere Port area who are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their exceptional team.

This setting provides personalised education for secondary-aged students who require tailored support to engage fully in learning. Pupils may present with social, emotional and mental health needs, anxiety-related barriers, communication differences and additional learning needs. The school prides itself on a nurturing, therapeutic approach, small class sizes and a strong focus on emotional wellbeing and positive relationships. Staff work collaboratively to enable young people to build confidence, develop independence and achieve academically.

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of English who can deliver inspiring, accessible lessons that encourage progress and engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting young people who need consistency, patience and structure to thrive.

Role responsibilities
  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons
  • Using creative approaches to support literacy development
  • Working closely with support staff and pastoral leaders
  • Adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and building strong rapport
Ideal candidate
  • Hold QTS or QTLS (ECTs welcomed with relevant experience)
  • Have proven experience working with students who have SEMH or additional learning needs – this is essential
  • Be resilient, reflective and passionate about inclusive education
  • Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
