An educational support organization in Sunderland is looking for a Core Subjects Tutor to work with disengaged Key Stage 3 and 4 students in Maths, English, and Science. The role involves one-to-one or small group tutoring, developing personalized lesson plans, and monitoring student progress. Ideal candidates will have experience working with young people with SEND. This position offers flexibility with a pay rate up to £30 per hour, with sessions starting in September 2025.

Prospero Teaching are seeking dedicated Core Subjects Tutors to support disengaged students in the Sunderland area. These young people are not currently accessing mainstream education as a result of SEND, SEMH, permanent exclusion and various other reasons. We are looking for Core Subject Tutors to work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, covering Maths, English and Science, who can provide a safe, encouraging, and empowering learning environment to re-engage them in their learning journey.
You will be supporting young people on a 1-1 or small group basis who are not currently accessing full time education for various reasons. Many of our young people have not attended school for some time and may have emotional barriers to learning. As a result, we are seeking nurturing Tutors with a patient, flexible approach and a passion for working closely with students to overcome barriers to learning. Sessions will take place face to face either in a community setting or at the young persons home.
